PILOT STUDY AND ITS MERITS
Conducting pilot study is vital, as this is also called as feasibility studies which are “small-scale versions” or “trial run”, which has done as a preparation for the major study” (Polit et al., 2001). The major benefit of conducting such study is that it might give prior warning or cautious to the researcher about where and when the project being conducted could fail, it can be due to improper research proposals, inappropriate instrument etc. There are several reasons for running the pilot study such as to develop research instruments, study feasibility, research protocol designing, effective sampling frame / sampling techniques, train a researcher, to identify logistic problems etc.
